FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Products & Capabilities
ACW produces a wide range of webbing and cord products including nylon, polyester, polypropylene, Kevlar (aramid) webbing; elastic webbing; and braided or twisted cords with or without core materials.
Yes. ACW handles custom webbing design—adjusting weave patterns, thickness, width, stiffness, tensile strength, elongation, edge reinforcement, and finishes (e.g. water-repellent, anti-microbial, fire-retardant). The in-house vertical integration (webbing, sewing, hardware) allows more tightly coordinated custom solutions.
ACW offers plastic hardware (buckles, slides, loops. d-rings, ladderlocks) in various materials including acetal and nylon, polypropylene and also supplies metal hardware. For high-heat or flame-resistant applications, ACW’s FireLoc line provides heat-stabilized thermoplastic hardware.
Yes. ACW produces flame-retardant and flame resistant webbing and cord that are UL-approved for meeting various fire safety requirements. ACW also offers military-spec webbing and cords (e.g. MIL-W-4088) and Natick-approved buckles, fully Berry Amendment and BABA compliant. Additionally, ACW supports aerospace/aircraft webbing and strap solutions under its product lines.
Yes. ACW offers “100% recyclable” webbing options.
Yes. ACW does not just supply raw webbing or hardware—they also handle industrial sewing, cutting, punching, packaging, and final assembly of straps. Because their operations are vertically integrated, they can coordinate webbing, hardware, and sewn strap assembly internally.

Industries & Use Cases
ACW serves a broad spectrum of industries including military/tactical, automotive, fire & rescue, aerospace & aviation, safety, medical, marine/flotation, industrial, and consumer markets (apparel, luggage, outdoor gear).
Yes. ACW is the only U.S. manufacturer with in-house capability to produce Berry Amendment–compliant webbing, cord and Natick-approved plastic buckles. Their military offerings meet or exceed relevant material, strength, and durability standards.
ACW manufactures flame resistant and flame-retardant cord and webbing and heat-resistant hardware (FireLoc line) that meet UL and or NFPA standards for safety. They also integrate the full product chain (webbing, hardware, assembly) to deliver strap solutions suited for harsh, high-heat environments.
Yes. Their product lines include capabilities for medical and flotation/marine markets (e.g. webbing and cord solutions meeting flotation and safety requirements).
Yes. ACW produces heavy-duty webbing and hardware for industrial use, but also supplies consumer-end products (e.g. webbing, buckles) used in backpacks, luggage, apparel, sports gear, etc.

Customization & Services
ACW collaborates with customers to analyze functional needs and specifications such as engineering drawings to determine custom strap, webbing and hardware solutions. Because ACW makes the majority of its products in house, they can develop design options efficiently.
Yes. ACW offers industrial sewing/strap assembly as part of their service mix. They also mold non buckle parts and offer injection molding of parts on custom products outside of hardware or buckles.
ACW maintains molds and provides in-house tool maintenance. They implement preventive maintenance tracking tied to mold shot count and runtime to maintain consistency and avoid dimensional drift.
Yes. Because of ACW’s vertically integrated capabilities and internal design & engineering, they support prototyping and development runs to validate custom designs before full production.

Ordering & Sales Process
You can contact ACW via phone (401-762-5500), email (acwco@acw1.com) or through their website contact form to submit your specifications, drawings, or requirements. The sales/engineering team will review and respond with a quote based on materials, processing, quantities, and customization.
Yes. ACW offers a wide stocking program on a number of products. Additionally, they offer an “Inventory Bank” program where they will manufacture and hold up to six months’ worth of high-usage components in their facility at no charge specific to customer needs to have immediate access to products.
Lead time varies based on complexity, tooling, volume, and current capacity. You’ll need to consult with your sales rep for a project-specific timeline.
Yes. ACW positions itself as the only U.S. manufacturer of webbing, plastic hardware, straps, and sewing. Their domestic production mitigates risks associated with overseas supply chains such as delays, tariffs, or quality consistency.
ACW supports both smaller and large volume orders. Their flexible, vertically integrated production allows adaptation across scales, and the Inventory Bank offers a buffer for recurring orders.
