WEBBING & CORD FOR COMMERCIAL, TACTICAL, AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Our complete line of U.S. made webbing products are manufactured in our Rhode Island facility and approved for flotation, FR, high tenacity, 100% recyclable and abrasion resistance.

OUR CAPABILITIES
ACW manufactures webbing and supplies cord products in a variety of different styles and yarn options for every application. Many of our products are high strength, flame retardant or resistant, and cut resistant.

STANDARD MATERIALS

Nylon Webbing
With high break strength and excellent abrasion resistance, nylon webbing is a popular choice for military, harness and child safety applications.
Polyester Webbing
When the least amount of stretch is required, polyester webbing is the best option. With high strength and melting point, it is often used in applications such as fall restraint, tie downs and lifting slings.
Kevlar® Webbing
Using an aramid fiber, Kevlar® webbing has many desirable properties such as flame and heat resistance, high tenacity, low elongation and chemical resistance. It is widely used in safety applications such as protective clothing, security products and firefighting.
Elastic Webbing
Manufactured with varying degrees of stretch, elastic webbing has a wide range of uses including apparel, crafts, automotive and furniture.
Polypropylene Webbing
Available in a wide range of colors and widths, Polypro webbing is both versatile and economical. It is often used in applications such as military, child safety, sporting goods and luggage.

Cord Manufacturing
Process Flow

Material Selection
Choose fibers such as nylon, polyester, cotton, or polypropylene based on desired strength, flexibility, and environmental resistance.
Yarn Preparation
Fibers are spun into yarns. Multiple yarns may be twisted or plied together to form strands.
Braiding or Twisting
Strands are braided or twisted together using specialized machines to form the cord. Braiding involves intertwining strands in a specific pattern, while twisting involves spiraling strands around each other.
Core Insertion
A core, often made of several yarns, is inserted, and the outer sheath is braided around it for added strength.
Heat Setting and Finishing
The cord may undergo heat treatment to set its shape and improve durability. Additional finishes like UV protection or water repellents can be applied.
Cutting and Packaging
Cords are cut to desired lengths, ends are sealed (often by melting for synthetic cords), and then packaged for distribution.
